A bee-friendly vegetable garden
A Bee-friendly vegetable garden
A beautiful and healthy vegetable garden must be attractive to bees pollinating plants, so that the garden will be reach in crops.
When we think about the plants that we will plant and raise, we also have to think about plants that are attractive to bees.
Plants that the bees like to visit
Many of the flowers and herbs we like and regularly sow are honey plants. We choose among the flowers and herbs that we need and that we like.
Bees see very well and therefore quickly find nectar and pollen. Colors that are attractive to bees are blue, purple, white and yellow. Plant as many plants with flowers of such colors.
We know many different types of bees, which are of different sizes and have different lengths of the tongue and are kept in different forms of flowers. That's why we choose flowers and herbs with different shapes of flowers.
We do not use pesticides in a bee-friendly garden!
Where do we plant plants for bees?
The plants that the bees love to visit can be sown in groups all over the garden or you can create a corner for bees.
Choose the sunny part of the garden, protected from the wind. Bees do not like wind because they interfere with landing. They prefer the sun as a shade.
The lower plants should grow at the edge, the higher in the middle, to the north side and all plants must have enough space.
